During the lecture period: In-person (Frauenlobstr. 7a), each week Thursday 6pm-7pm (18:00 - 19:00 Uhr).

Modul

Registration is limited to students of informatics and media informatics! Counts as individual or group practical course (Einzel- oder Gruppenpraktikum). !IMPORTANT! Please note that due to the engaging nature of the group projects, students often spend more than the allocated time on the development of their prototypes.

Content

Students in this course learn about the basics of electronics, circuit design, microcontroller programming, and physical prototyping. The students apply this knowledge by designing a smart object.

Course Structure

• Phase I: Introduction to electronics and microcontroller programming. As part of this phase, the students are asked to research and present one specific topic or hardware component. Further, students are asked to complete tasks that correspond to the weekly session content.
• Phase II: This phase is initiated with an ideation session in which groups of students create project ideas related to a specific theme. In this phase, the groups work on implementing their projects in the form of a smart object. The groups receive access to our wood workshop and electronics lab during the lecture period on Thursday 5pm-6pm (17:00 - 18:00 Uhr).
