Lehrplan

In this course, we will develop innovative privacy and security concepts. While privacy and security have been important topics for many years, satisfactory solutions are still rare. Due to the lack of good options and the laborious nature of managing privacy and security, users are often reluctant to spend time on these tasks. In this course, students organize into groups. Each group designs, prototypes, and evaluates a novel privacy- or security-enhancing interface concept.

This year's topic is Tangible Privacy and Security Games. Hence, course participants will develop a concept for a tangible interface (i.e., an interface that supports user interaction through physical manipulation) that leverages gamification to help users manage, protect, or understand privacy- or security-related concepts. This course will therefore include lessons on and tasks involving hardware prototyping (i.e., using microcontrollers, sensors, and actuators) and fabrication (e.g., 3D modeling, 3D printing, and laser cutting). It will also involve coding tasks.
