Date: March 18th and 19th (all day)
Location: Leopoldstr. 13, 3220

Contents

The goal of this course is:

  • to provide an overview of technologies that can be used to support (collaborative) learning
  • to deliver insight into the development process of such computer applications and
  • to establish an understanding of effects that different types of technologies have on collaborative processes.

Target audience: participants of the Doctoral Training Program (DTP) of the Learning Sciences

Schedule

Day 1 Getting to know technologies for collaborative learning
9:15-10:45 Introductory lecture
11:00-16:00 Practical experiments with prototypes in small groups (including 1 hour lunch break)
16:00-17:00 Discussion about experience with prototypes


Day 2 How to design new collaborative learning applications
9:15-10:00 Lecture on effects of different display types on collaborative processes (slides)
10:00-15:00 Development of ideas on how to support a specific collaborative learning scenario using technologies (including 1 hour lunch break)
15:00-17:00 Discussion of solutions and lessons learned
