This report provides an overview of current applications and research trends in the field of human-computer interaction. It especially focuses on secondary tasks and discusses various topics ranging from system security, automotive interaction, and multitasking to ambient displays. During the winter term 2013, students from the Computer Science Department at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich did research on specific topics and analyzed various publications. This report comprises a selection of papers that resulted from the seminar. Each chapter presents a survey of current trends, developments, and research with regard to secondary tasks. Although the studentsâ background is computer science, their work includes interdisciplinary viewpoints such as theories, methods, and findings from interaction design, ergonomics, hardware design and many more. Therefore, the report is targeted at anyone who is interested in the various facets of current topics in HCI. |
