Research Interests
I am focusing on investigating the extent to which human comprehension of data visualizations can be quantified through brain activity, specifically using electroencephalography (EEG). My research focuses on identifying and analyzing the brain activity patterns associated with the cognitive processes involved in interpreting different types of data visualizations. I want to answer questions such as:- How long will the user take to understand what is displayed in this visualization?
- What to include in a visualization if we know the user has only 15 seconds to look at it?
- How difficult was this visualization for the user to comprehend?
- Did this visualization provide novel information to the user?
