Attention and Calm Technology in Social Encounters

This thesis explores the role of attention within in-person social interactions and investigates how (calm) technology can be designed to support, rather than disrupt, these moments. As digital devices increasingly compete for users’ focus, this work examines how technology might instead recede into the background, enhancing awareness, presence, and interpersonal connection.
