Designing Scarfs using Inspired Creativity

Computer-controlled manufacturing allows to create one of a kind products for the customer. The thesis should research the question how a customer can design his or her one of a kind product. The predecessor for this thesis was a scarf with three colored stripes. The customer could define the three colors by a color picker dialog or choose from a suggestion list with color triples. This thesis should increase the complexity of the design by introducing more parameters - variable width of the stripes, shape of the stripes, etc.

Tasks

• Find and study related literature and the predecessor thesis.
• Define the design parameters and design the user study.
• Develop software for the user study (JavaScript, PHP). The preview of the scarf will be a challenge.
• Conduct the user study (online).
• Do an statistical evaluation of the study.
• Write all down in a thesis.
