Visualizing the Real Estate Data of an Online Marketplace
In Proceedings of the 13th International Conference on Information Visualization (IV), Barcelona, Spain, Jul 15-17, 2009. (bib)
An application to analyze online adverts is developed. In particular we use real estate adverts from the online real estate market of sueddeutsche.de as data basis for the analysis. The application allows real estate agents to analyze their online adverts and therefore their real estate objects concerning their competitiveness on the online platform. Agents are given advice regarding the market opportunity of their online adverts can be improved. For this purpose the developed application evaluates the online adverts as well as their real estate content and presents the results. The focus lies on the visualization of the complex market and evalution data suitable for real estate agents, who mainly are computer laymen. This paper introduces the realization of the evaluation process and the result’s visualization. A formative user study helps to evaluate the developed application. Instructions how to generalize the approach to different online stores follow.
