Search and rescue operations become more and more important to societies worldwide. Rescue services are often engaged in missions in rural areas, treating the injured or searching for missing persons. Often, time is an essential factor for a positive outcome of search and rescue missions. Due to their capacity for flexible deployment, drones have a great potential to be deployed in search and rescue scenarios and thus reduce the rescue time.
